Reinterpretative gastronomy of the culinary heritage of our territory

This is the essence of Restaurant Castell Perelada

Chef Javi Martínez, presents us with a unique gastronomic proposal each season, recovering the legacy of traditional Catalan cuisine. This concept, which fuses innovation and tradition, is a tribute to ancient Catalan and Empordà recipes, dishes that pay tribute to the past flavours and techniques, reinterpreted for the modern palate. Each creation is carefully prepared, using organic, seasonal, local ingredients from our own garden, ensuring freshness and authenticity for each bite, thus providing an extraordinary culinary experience.

In turn, the maître and sommelier Toni Gerez, with his enormous charisma and passion, is the master of ceremonies of this exceptional gastronomic experience that has led them to achieve a Michelin Star, two Soles Repsol and the special award for the best Michelin Table Service 2024.

The space occupied by the restaurant is privileged. Located inside the 14th Century Peralada Castle, it has various dining rooms, private dining rooms in the towers and a terrace with views of the lake and the impressive gardens. Ideal for enjoying an authentic and exceptional experience.

The Chef & the Maître

Passion, enthusiasm and dedication are the main ingredients of Restaurant Castell Perelada led by two great professionals, Toni Gerez and Javi Martínez.

Javi Martínez has a professional career of more than 20 years during which he has grown and trained in such outstanding restaurants as Mas Pau where he began his professional relationship with the maître and sommelier Toni Gerez, and the previous chef of Restaurant Castell Perelada, Xavi Sagristà. His commitment to the territory and his creative reinterpretation of traditional Catalan dishes has been rewarded with a Michelin Star and two Soles Repsol.

Toni Gerez is in charge of the dining room, the exclusive wine cellar and the selection of an excellent cheese cart. He was part of the team at the beginning of El Bulli and together with Xavi Sagristà they managed the Hotel Restaurant Mas Pau where they received a Michelin Star which they kept for 20 years. In 2022, Toni Gerez received the award for "Best Dining Room Service in Spain and Portugal", a distinction awarded for the first time in the history of the Michelin Guide.
